Dear patrons. There's always action in your library and we try our best to offer what you wish for. But how is the process of the traditional library holding?
Of course there are deviations, but you can say that the traditional process is something like this:
- A certain library holding is ordered (often after a wish/point from a patron)
- After receiving the item, we have to check if the library system has a copy of it
- Items are cataloged into the system if it's not there already
- Items are connected to the cataloged library holding
- Stickers printed out and the holding is fully prepared to be loaned (i.e. plasting)
- Item put into a correct shelf
- A patron borrows the item (often after having ordered it)
(and then of course the patron returns the item ... but you know what we mean ... :-) )
It's very convenient to order a library holding that you're interested in - doesn't cost anything!
