The house of the Municipal Library of Akureyri turns 55 yrs old!

The Municipal Library of Akureyri is the oldest institution of the Akureyri municipality. The building by Brekkugata 17 was formally opened on November 9th, 1968, and will therefore turn 55 yrs old next Thursday (9th of November).

This event will present the preliminary findings from the recently conducted interviews in Akureyri and neighbouring communities. Themes will include considerations on how the pandemic contributed to gender inequalities in relationship to social realities, local economies, and personal life strategies.
